The Thin Line Between Everything and Nothing takes us to far-off countries and cultures, offering the reader a glimpse of the stories behind easily forgotten headlines, blending them with myth and magic. It is here that we meet characters often pushed to the extreme, who remind us that we are all still animals – driven by instinct and a need for protection. Woven throughout are the frequently difficult dynamics that disempower and define women, and which transcend distance and cultures. From this emerges an exploration of place and safety: how those environments we may fear as most hostile can bring us the greatest peace, while those that should promise comfort engender precisely the opposite.

Debut Collection To Be Published In 2021

Reflex Press will publish my first collection of flash fiction, The Thin Blue Line Between Everything And Nothing, in summer 2021.

About my writing

I am an award-winning author of flash fiction. My work won the ‘I Must Be Off!’ travel writing competition, placed second in the Bath Flash Fiction Award in 2020 and was highly commended in the TSS Flash Fiction Prize. I was named as one of the top 50 British and Irish writers of flash fiction for 2019-2020. I have been shortlisted for several other competitions and my stories have been published widely online and in print anthologies.

I began writing flash fiction after 20 years as a journalist travelling the world and my writing pays tribute to the people I have met in my work.

I also write creative non-fiction (CNF) to process my own experiences, and am working on a memoir, entitled ‘Aftershocks’. I have also recently completed my first novel which is now being edited.

Beautiful writing with a scene that gets under your skin and stays there. Poetic and sensual, with surprising turns in descriptions
