‘Just another manic Monday’

(with thanks to The Bangles for the song title)

Do you ever dread Mondays? The ‘reality bites’ moment after the weekend?

The start of the week can be a rude wake up call even if we love our job.

But for anyone feeling burnt out and exhausted, it can be another reminder of the sheer relentless of the world right now.
My work around #resilience won’t offer a magic wand or extra days for the weekend, but I hope it might help you.

It’s allowed me to reframe my relationship with that relentless feeling.

I now take a few minutes every Monday on the walk home from dropping my son at school to stop and breathe, to pause and consider, to rest and admire and feel grateful.

Today was bitterly cold after days of rain, a blue sky and gorgeous light on the autumn trees, the village sheep clustered together in the field’s corner.

Then it’s home for a coffee and to spend five mins planning my day before I start my tasks.

Wishing you all a kind transition back to work (while noting that some may have been working the weekend so hopefully this applies for any day marking the week’s start).
